Welcome!
I'm Lainey, a Southern-born, Midwestern-raised, Boston-based Registered Dietitian and Stella & Dot Stylist. I love styling diets and closets to help people feel beautiful on the inside and out.
I love food, fitness, fashion, my cat, living by the beach, going out to eat, traveling, living in foreign countries, networking, cooking, rock climbing, running, shopping, kickboxing, being busy, teaching, writing, eating, sleeping, leopard prints, scarves, coffee, and wine.
I've been active as long as I can remember (I'm the daughter of a personal trainer). But, I hated running when I was growing up, and I was always the last person to cross the finish line in sprints at soccer practice. In college, I took a Run/Jog class because we had an awesome group of classes called "Leisure Skills." I started losing the Freshman 15 while everyone else was gaining it. Now I enjoy sweating by running, kickboxing, and bootcamping.
I'm a wanna-be foodie and am always looking forward to the next meal. The nutrition part just came later, which coincidentally was about the same time I started running, so everything balanced out. I took the straightforward path to becoming a Registered Dietitian - feel free to contact me for all the nitty gritty details - and then got a M.S. in Nutrition Communication. This was an absolute perfect combination for me seeing as I really didn't even like math and science growing up and liked English and Writing instead. So for 2 years I got to write about nutrition and now I still am (see food section)!
During my training as a dietitian, a good friend invited me to a jewelry party. I didn't wear that much jewelry and definitely wasn't fashionable. I'm still not, really. I walked into this gorgeous house and there was a pop-up shop in someone's kitchen, complete with jewelry, wine, and a personal Stylist. Long story short, I spent more $$ than I was making (don't recommend doing that), which was nothing because I was actually paying to work full-time to become an RD. The jewelry was gorgeous, and the Stylist was making money while sitting at the counter drinking wine and taking orders. So I signed up. I knew nothing about jewelry and nothing about business but boy have I come a long way.
The cool thing is that all of my adventures compliment each other, and I've loved intertwining them to meet new people and learn new skills. Through this blog, I want to share all of the nutritious, delicious, stylish, and fit things I've learned in my journey as a dietitian, worker-outter, traveler, and stylist so far. It's just the beginning y'all!
